Located 1/2 a mile out of town at the mouth of the Tanalian River. This cabin is a short walk from Port Alsworth, but you feel like you're miles away. The views are serene from this secluded lakefront property on Lake Clark. Watch salmon jumping while drinking your morning coffee, fish for grayling at the river mouth, and enjoy happy hour with a campfire on the beach. Not only is our Tanalian River Cabin the perfect way to create an affordable adventure for your group, but it is the best location in town!

  • There are NO STORES in Port Alsworth! Bring food for your stay in Lake Clark.

    • There is 1 food truck open during the months of June to August that serves basic hamburgers and hot dogs. They are closed on Sundays.

    • The Cranberry Cache coffee shop serves beverages and baked goods.

    • Dining at Lake Clark Resort is possible with advanced reservations.

    The cabin comes complete with everything you might need to cook your own meals. We recommend grocery shopping in Anchorage before your flight. Your local air taxis will fly your groceries, but please contact them in advance for their policies on flying with alcohol.

    Expeditor services may be available to shop for you. Please contact us or your air taxi for suggestions.

  • Our cabin is located on our 40 acres of land at the edge of Port Alsworth. Enjoy exclusive pedestrian access across our private trails to the Tanalian River for fishing. The cabin is approximately 1/2 mile from the Lake and Pen Air runway and 1 mile from the NPS Visitor Center and Tinnitun Trailhead to access the local trail network. Everything in Port Alsworth is within walking distance of the cabin.

    Please note our cabin is not ADA accessible. Due to the remote location of our cabin it is necessary to walk approximately half a mile over uneven terrain. You must cross a narrow footbridge over water to access our property.

  • There are no car/ATV rentals or vehicle taxis in Port Alsworth. We do provide a ride to/from the air taxi on your arrival and departure day. Please let us know your flight details so we can communicate with you prior to your arrival!

    • Enjoy the scenery and watch for wildlife from the front porch.

    • Read a book or play a board game.

    • Have a campfire and watch the sunset.

    • Fish for grayling at the mouth of the Tanalian River.

    • Hike to Tanalian Falls and Kontrashibuna Lake or spend a day hiking Tanalian Mountain.

    • Rent kayaks and get out on the water.

    • Take a scenic flight tour to Twin Lakes or Katmai.
